We offered one weekend of peach picking in August 2017. See you back for next year, we hope! As of Sept 14 still plenty of great peaches in our store!
We have saved Rows 3/4/5 for you to pick today, which is our finest peach called Earnie’s Choice. It is sweet with pleasant acid and less fuzz than most peaches.
Peaches that are ripe today will have a slight softness when pressed around the stem or shoulder of the peach and will have some coloring (yellow). Beware: don’t press so hard that you leave finger impressions!
The fruit runs the finest quality, 80% grade US #1 off the tree, but there will be a few “seconds” with blemishes. We ask that you keep ALL sound fruit you pick, including such seconds -- they still taste great of course.
Please keep the peaches you pick. You are free to pick any peaches you choose, from hard to soft-ripe. All of the peaches you pick today will ripen/soften eventually. You may discard any diseased fruit or fruit with extensive scaring ONLY.
Peaches are delicate. Place you peaches in your bag carefully without dropping them. Treat them like eggs and do not overfill the bag.
You can buy as many bags as you like, but cannot bring your own.
Store peaches below 40 degrees or above 60 degrees. The twenty degree ranges from 40-60 degrees F. is known as the “kill zone” Peaches stored for more than a few days in this temperature range will develop a dry, pithy flesh similar to what is found in inferior supermarket fare.
Be smart. Common sense rules apply: don’t climb trees, shake trees or otherwise damage them.
We reserve the right to inspect bags/backpacks etc.
Throwing fruit or other disrespectful behavior is cause for ejection from the orchard.
Pick your own pumpkins begins mid September
Saturday and Sunday, about 11am to 4 pm, depending on demand.
$2 per person ages 10 and up
Pumpkins are 49 cents pound.
Wagon rides leave from the area behind the main store.
May we suggest sturdy shoes!
We run one wagon on slower days and two wagons on busier ones.
As one wagon goes out, one is returning.
Depending on which field we go to, the whole trip is about 30 to 45 minutes.
Rain cancels wagon rides.
Soons was an accidental discovery while taking a scenic drive. It has become one of our favorite places! Your cider is hands down the best we've ever tasted and those apple cider doughnuts, don't get me started! I'll wait on line forever for one. (And I did wait on a long line for some when I was pregnant.)

Friendly staff, brilliant harvest of apples as nature allows, a delectable selection of local produce, preserved products, and baked goods at pretty reasonable prices given that it is a farm store. The cafe and wine/cider tasting room is cozy, but folks are very friendly. The outdoor beer garden with a grill and entertainment venue was brilliant in the Sunday sunshine. All in all, a fantastic experience and that's why we've been going to Soons for 10 years.
